More than 200 fans who missed out on tickets for Maidstone United’s historic first game at The Gallagher Stadium are in for a nice surprise.
Ground capacity for the visit of Championship club Brighton & Hove Albion on July 14 has been raised from 2,000 to 2,226 – and fans who joined a waiting list for tickets are set to benefit.
Club chief executive Bill Williams has welcomed news. He said: “We have been working with the authorities to make sure everything is in place for the 14th. It is pleasing to get additional capacity at the stadium, the demand is certainly there.
“We could have sold out many times over and have many names on a waiting list. The lucky people will be contacted in the next few days. Unfortunately, none of the tickets will go on general sale.”
All other pre-season fixtures will be pay at the gate. Dates for these are as follows:
Tuesday 17 July: Home vs. Dagenham & Redbridge
Saturday 21 July: Home vs. Tonbridge Angels
Tuesday 31 July: Home vs. Ebbsfleet United
Saturday 4 August: Home vs. AFC Hornchurch
Wednesday 8 August: Home vs. Leyton Orient
Saturday 11 August: Home vs. Lewes
