Poyet heaps praise on pitch

Brighton and Hove Albion manager Gus Poyet has hailed Maidstone United’s new 3G pitch as ‘magnificent’.

Chelsea and Spurs legend Poyet – who officially opened the new £2.6million Gallagher Stadium – told seagulls.co.uk:

“I was very pleased, the pitch was magnificent. The players were happy and the ball rolled very well. There were no issues and no injuries, so it was perfection. Congratulations to Maidstone.”

The match played in front of a sell-out 2,226 crowd ended in a 5-0 win for the Championship side.
