John Millard planned to get a ring for his wife to mark their Golden Wedding Anniversary but ditched a rock for the Stones.
When the Ditton resident bought the wrong size ring for Maureen, he returned to the jewellers but instead of changing the size he got his money back and headed to the Gallagher Stadium.
He said: “I took the ring back to change it but suddenly thought about getting us Maidstone United season tickets. I got my money back and headed to the ground. We’ve been to a few of the pre-seasons and have absolutely loved it. I thought about Vice President tickets but we really enjoy being pitchside with other fans.”
Luckily for John, Mrs Millard was delighted with the swap.
She said: “I was really happy with the season ticket. I’ve got plenty of rings and this was a great way to mark our anniversary.”
