Maidstone United can confirm that Sam Bewick’s three-match suspension will now begin on 25 August, as opposed to 18 August.
This news comes after it was confirmed the Kent FA, who deal with red cards obtained in friendlies, do not enforce suspensions until 21 days after the offending incident.
Subsequently Sam will now be available for our first two league matches, against Walton & Hersham and Whitstable respectively, with his suspension beginning with our FA Cup game against Shoreham or Colliers Wood United on 25 August.
In other news, today’s FA Cup match between Shoreham and Colliers Wood ended in a 2-2 draw, so the two sides will meet again on Tuesday night to determine who will face Maidstone United in their first FA Cup game at the Gallagher Stadium.
