Stones win Red Insure Team of the Year

Maidstone United have won the Red Insure Team of the Year at the National Game Awards.

Organised by the Non League Paper, the awards celebrate the grassroots game and the winners were announced at an annual awards lunch at Craven Cottage this afternoon.

First team manager Jay Saunders accepted the award on behalf of the club.

The Stones were shortlisted along with Burgess Hill Town, FC United of Manchester, North Ferriby United, Glossop North End and Merthyr Town.

Lee Worgan (Reusch Goalkeeper of the Year) and James Rogers (Timali Step 3&4 Player of the Year) were also nominated.

The club picked up the Football Foundation Community Club of the Year prize at the National Game Awards in 2013.
