Maidstone United and boss Jay Saunders were winners at tonight’s Ryman Banquet & Ball, held at the Hilton Wembley.
The club picked up team performance of the season for the FA Cup run, which saw the Stones make it to the second round proper of the competition and enjoy two live televised matches.
Jay Saunders picked up Ryman Premier Division manager of the year for masterminding the league title success and with it promotion to the Vanarama National League South.
In the Ryman Premier team of the season, selected by the division’s 24 managers, six players made it into the X1, They were: Lee Worgan, Steve Watt, Tom Mills, Matt Bodkin, Alex Flisher and Jay May.
A trophy was also presented for winning the Ryman Under 21 League South.
Ryman League chairman Alan Turvey steps down at tomorrow’s Annual General Meeting after 33 years. He will continue as President – a role he’s jointly held since 2002. Our thanks and best wishes go to Alan and his fellow board members.
