Maidstone United have sold their 1,000th season ticket today.
To be precise the figure currently stands at 1,001 and the landmark was reached after John Ryan bought a season ticket for himself and his children Saskia and Saul.
Season ticket sales are almost double compared to this time last year as supporters look forward to an exciting new level of football.
Club chief executive Bill Williams said: “Thank you to John and the 998 before him who’ve helped us reach this significant milestone.
“From the excitement and interest following the championship, we always hoped season ticket numbers would increase but to get to four figures is a massive achievement.
“It also backs the decision of the directors to invest more than £600,000 to improve facilities at the Gallagher Stadium this summer.”
On becoming the 1,000th season ticket holder, John Ryan (pictured above with Saul) said: “It’s fantastic, absolutely brilliant – it just shows what a success the club is.
“Seeing the team in the pre-season friendlies – they’re fantastic and there’s some great new signings, Jay’s done a brilliant job. We can’t wait for the first game now.”
Ground season tickets are available to buy online. Although delivery of the ticket cannot be guaranteed by the first home league game on 11 August, a temporary pass will be provided for that game.
