I think I am already decided about the team for the match against Hayes and Yeading tomorrow. As usual I have my ideas about how we will go and having chatted with Nicky and Jamie last night, we think we are settled on the side.
It is a bit difficult to know what to expect tomorrow. Hayes and Yeading have signed four or five players in the last week so they might be different to when we have had them watched recently.
If we had lost on Tuesday at Hemel Hempstead that would have been our third defeat in a row and that would have been unusual for the set of players we have at the club. They are not used to losing and it was important that we bounced back with three points. There is perhaps a bit of added pressure with regards to the game tomorrow as we have lost both of our home games so far. We must take the game to Hayes and Yeading tomorrow and be nice and positive.
We have a couple of knocks and niggles in the squad at the moment. That is to be expected at this time of the season as we have been playing twice a week and the pace is a lot different to that which you experience in pre-season. The atmosphere in the dressing room is good and the boys are up for the match tomorrow as they are desperate to get their first three points at home.
We don’t have a game in the week which will give those who need it, a full week to recover. I am trying to arrange a friendly for Tuesday night though because it is important for some of the lads who haven’t been getting minutes to have game time. If it can be sorted out, the likes of Simon Johnson and James Rogers will be involved in that match.
