Maidstone United have signed Alex Osborn on a two-month loan from Ebbsfleet United.
The versatile midfielder/striker began his career at Grays Athletic before signing for Dagenham & Redbridge at the age of 16 on a three-year contract.
After spells at Thurrock and Chelmsford, he signed on loan for The Fleet in August 2013 and an initial three month deal was extended for the whole season. Following his release from Dagenham he rejoined the Stonebridge Road outfit on a permanent basis.
Stones boss Jay Saunders said: “Alex is someone we’ve had our eye on for a little while. We tried to take him on loan last season but it didn’t quite happen and then earlier this season I contacted Ebbsfleet but he’d just signed for Hayes.
“He’s gives us another option – he’s got good pace, works hard and can play either side or up top. As I’ve said all along, if good players become available you have to look at it and that’s what we’ve done.”
The 22-year-old has permission from his parent club to play in the Emirates FA Cup, so could make his debut against Leatherhead or South Park this weekend.
