Jay Saunders has been named Vanarama National League South Manager of the Month for October.
The Stones went unbeaten during the month, which started with a 1-0 win over league leaders Ebbsfleet United. With two other wins in the league, two victories in the FA Cup and just one goal conceded in October, judges at league sponsor Vanarama awarded Saunders the prize.
The panel said: “He may have narrowly missed out on the award in September but the October recipient for the Vanarama South is richly deserved by Saunders.
“The Stones have continued with a rich vein of form in both the league and FA Cup and not only are they in a strong challenging position for promotion, they face a tremendous FA Cup tie this coming weekend when the Gallagher Stadium play host to Yeovil Town.
“And who would believe they could not spring a surprise. Certainly not the main in charge! Jay must be confident that under his leadership they have a really good chance of making the Second Round.”
