Segregation for Stones vs. Stones

After discussions with the various safety agencies, next Tuesday’s match between Maidstone United and Wealdstone will be segregated.

It is not an all-ticket fixture, with home and away fans able to pay at the turnstiles on the evening.

Home fans will use the main entrance – cash payments through turnstiles one to three and season tickets on turnstile four.

Admission for Wealdstone supporters will be via the new turnstiles at Gate C, opposite the Kent History & Library Centre. Any away supporters who might have difficulty with the steps that lead down into the ground will be assisted via the main entrance.

Visiting supporters will take the northeast corner of the Gallagher Stadium – in an identical set-up to Sunday’s FA Cup match. This covers the area between the far end steps of the Conway main stand, past Gate C and up to and including the right-hand section of the Henry Reeves & Co Stand. They will also have rows C to H, seats 1 to 15, in the stand.

There is a refreshment kiosk and toilets in the away section.

Club chief executive Bill Williams said: “The last three meetings have passed off without incident – just two sets of supporters enjoying competitive games of football.

“Unfortunately the actions of a tiny minority, who turned up for the opening game of the 2013/14 season, are still fresh in the minds of the various safety agencies and, as a result, next Tuesday’s game will be segregated.

“It’s my wish to have another incident-free game so that I can push for segregation to be dispensed with for future meetings of the two Stones.”

Home supporters will use the main turnstiles for this match. All gates will open at 18:15, ahead of the 19:45 kick off.
