Lee Worgan has signed a long term deal with Maidstone United.
The highly-rated keeper has put pen to paper on an agreement that will see him remain with the club for at least the next two seasons.
Worgan, who celebrated his 32nd birthday on Tuesday, signed for the Stones at the beginning of the 2013/14 campaign and has featured in every league game since. In all, he’s made more than 130 appearances and was recently named club captain.
Stones boss Jay Saunders said: “I am pleased to get Worgs tied up, as he was out of contract at the end of the season. He’s one of the best goalkeepers certainly in this league, if not in non-league – so it was a no-brainer to get something sorted.
“It’s this time of year when we try and get those who are coming out of their contracts sorted and this is a great bit of business for us and for the foreseeable future that we’ve got Worgs between the sticks.
“He’s a lively character around the changing room which is important for us and a lot of the younger lads look up to him and that’s one of the reasons I made him captain. He does the coaching side for us as well but the main thing is that on a Saturday he’s helped to get us where we are.”
