The Gallagher Stadium’s capacity is now 3,030.
Kent Fire & Rescue Service has issued a safety certificate for the Conway Main Stand today, which was the last piece of the jigsaw needed to confirm the increase.
It is a significant moment in the nine-month project that saw the main stand almost double in size, as well as three turnstiles and two exits added.
Chief executive Bill Williams said: “It’s not often in life you get excited by bits of paper but for us the issuing of this certificate is the culmination of months of hard work and investment to increase the stadium’s capacity.
“I would like to thank Mark Duly at Kent Fire & Rescue for guiding us through the process and making sure everything is in place for home and away fans to watch the game in a comfortable and safe environment.”
The increased capacity, which had to be signed off by the end of March, was one of the requirements of joining National League South.
