Charles Banya has thanked fans for their messages of support.
The 22-year-old is preparing to spend his second night in hospital after suffering concussion in yesterday’s game against Basingstoke Town.
His mum and other family members travelled down to Kent to be by his bedside and Jay Saunders visited this afternoon.
The Stones boss said: “Charles was looking a lot better than when I last saw him. He’s asked me to pass on his gratitude for all the messages he’s received. Manny and some of the other lads have been forwarding the comments and it means a lot to him to know how well thought of he is.”
Speaking on Saturday evening, club chief executive Bill Williams said: “From our medical team at the ground to the paramedics and A&E staff, I would like to offer my sincere thanks for the way in which they handled this situation.
“I know everyone will join me in wishing Charles a speedy recovery and we look forward to seeing him back on the pitch in the near future.”
