It’s Maidstone United versus Sutton United on Tuesday evening in what’s been dubbed round two of ‘El Plastico’.
The two sides met on the opening day of the season, the first league game to be played on Gander Green Lane’s 3G surface, with the Stones returning to Kent with all three points – thanks to goals from Joe Healy and Alex Akrofi.
Now it’s the turn of the Gallagher to host the match between the sides in second and third position in Vanarama South.
Club chief executive Bill Williams is expecting a memorable match: “We have played Sutton many times over the years and the bond between the two clubs has grown significantly through our use of 3G.
“This match has been rescheduled on a couple of occasions because of cup competitions and it’s fallen at a really interesting time. Second versus third at the business end of the season – two clubs assured of play-offs but both still with a chance of the championship.
“It’s also the second week of Easter school holidays, so hopefully mums and dads will bring their children to enjoy what has all the makings of an exciting 90 minutes.”
