The Stones will be taking to the road for the majority of their pre-season friendlies due to the pitch replacement works at the Gallagher Stadium.
Ryman Premier Division newcomers Folkestone Invicta will be this summer’s first opponents. Jay Saunders’ side will travel to The Fullicks Stadium on Tuesday 12 July to play in a testimonial match for Josh Vincent.
Forty-eight hours later (14 July), there’s a short journey along the A20 to play Sevenoaks Town.
The first Saturday friendly (16 July) is against Welling United. Former Bromley boss Mark Goldberg has taken over at Park View Road and has made some wholesale changes during his first few weeks in charge.
There will be several former Stones on show for the friendly on Tuesday 19 July. That is against Danny Lye’s Ashford United on the 3G pitch at Homelands – a venue the club played at for two years.
The first home friendly is scheduled on Saturday 23 July against Concord Rangers. Should the pitch works overrun, the match will be played at Concord’s Aspect Arena.
The following week sees a trip to Leatherhead on the Tuesday (26 July) and Faversham Town on Thursday (28 July).
A home friendly is scheduled for Saturday 30 July – visitors to be announced.
The Vanarama National League season begins the following weekend and the fixtures for 2016/17 will be published on Wednesday 6 July.
Stones boss Jay Saunders said: “The pitch replacement has impacted on our pre-season schedule but it’s essential that work is done for the new season. I am getting the lads back in on 25 June and we’ll have some training sessions ahead of those friendlies, which will give us the match practice we need ahead of what will be a big season for us.”
