Maidstone United vs Concord Rangers

The Stones will play their first home pre-season fixture on Saturday when they take on Concord Rangers. The game is also noteworthy as it will be the first match on Maidstone’s newly laid 3G pitch.

Concord finished in 10th position in the Conference South last year, 22 points behind the Stones. In the away fixture in Essex in October 2015, Maidstone came away with a 2-1 victory with Ben Greenhalgh getting the goal for Concord. Then in January, Joe Healy and Vas Karagiannis were on target for the Stones but they were held to a 2-2 draw by the Beach Boys.

In the week, Concord went down 2-1 against League One Gillingham with Steve King scoring for the Beach Boys. On Tuesday night, Maidstone headed to their former temporary home ground to play Southern Counties East side Ashford United and came away with 2-2 draw thanks to two late goals from Tom Murphy.
