Stones supporters are invited to join Aldershot Town fans in a minute’s applause in the 22nd minute of tonight’s game.
It’s in memory of Shots fan Steve ‘Chappie’ Chapman and to raise awareness of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, a condition which claimed Chappie’s life in 2011.
Jackie, Steve’s wife, said: “I’m so pleased that this is being done. PTSD needs more support, it is a deadly condition that sadly takes too many from us. I thank everybody who has been involved in organising this tribute. Chappie would be so proud of his club.”
It is estimated that 22 people each day commit suicide due to PTSD, an anxiety disorder caused by stressful, frightening or distressing events such as military combat, violent attacks, road accidents or natural disasters.
