The Gallagher Stadium’s new LED screen is set for switch on this autumn.
Measuring four metres by three, the screen will be positioned above the riverside fence and will display the score and time throughout the game.
Before kick off and at half and full time, there will be opportunities for local companies and organisations to buy ad time to promote events, products and offers.
With virtually no perimeter ad boards left to rent and no naming opportunities available, the screen will be a bright and modern way to get to more than 2,000 potential customers.
At the same time it will also help the club to raise revenues for the latest stadium expansion project: a new 1,700-capacity terrace that will be built between this November and next March.
Loyal club-supporting companies such as Icom, Britelite and Homeleigh have already committed to sponsoring and advertising on the new screen and there are opportunities for others to join them.
Club chief executive Bill Williams said: “We’ve finally signed off on the screen, which will be an exciting new addition to the stadium. It’s something that supporters have been keen to see and we were keen to make it happen.
“We do however need at least a couple more companies to take up advertising slots to ensure it is self-financing, especially at a time when the owners have to find near on a million pounds to enhance facilities to meet league requirements.”
