The Gallagher Stadium is hosting a charity match this Friday (2 December) in memory of Charlie Girling.
Teachers from Maplesden Noakes School will take on a team of ex-professional and semi-pro footballers at the home of the Stones. The match, which will consist of two 30 minute halves, kicks off at 13:00.
Classmates from Charlie’s school came up with the idea of a charity game to celebrate his life and raise funds for the 1st Aylesford Scout Group.
Charlie tragically died at the age 12 on a Scout Jamboree in Finland. He had been part of 1st Aylesford since the age of six and his family would like to raise money so that the scout group can continue to develop and offer local children the fantastic opportunities in scouting that Charlie had.
Gates open at 12:30 and admission is £5. The Spitfire Lounge and Stones Grill will be open during the afternoon.
