Vanarama National League match

Southport vs. Maidstone United

After a number of games at home on a Saturday, Maidstone United are back on the road today when they travel to Southport.

Both teams held higher league opposition in the FA Cup last weekend. Whilst the Stones were left frustrated by a last gasp equaliser from Rochdale, Southport drew 0-0 at home against neighbours Fleetwood Town who, like Rochdale, are also in League One.

And that isn’t where the similarities end between Southport and Maidstone either as both teams have found some form in recent weeks. Port haven’t lost now since the 8th October when they became one of only two teams to lose to Guiseley this season, whilst the Stones are unbeaten in their last three matches.
