Academy vs. Dover Athletic

Football academy trials in February

If you’re in Year 11 and love football but haven’t made your mind up about what do after your GCSEs, why not trial for a place at the Maidstone United Football Academy?

Based at the Gallagher Stadium, the club and MidKent College offer a two-year programme that combines academic sports studies, alongside football matches, training and qualifications.

If you would like to swap school for the stadium, apply online and attend the trial mornings on Monday 13 and Tuesday 14 February between 10:00 and 13:00.

First team manager Jay Saunders and player/coach Jamie Coyle are part of the academy’s coaching team, alongside Tom Parkinson (first teamer at Tonbridge Angels) and Jim Bodle (former player and reserve team boss).

As well as being successful at the trial, applicants will need to gain at least five GCSEs at A* to C, ideally including English and maths. An interview will also take place in the summer.
