Maidstone United Ladies are league champions.
Their 3-1 win over Barming Ladies this afternoon secured the South East Counties Womens League Kent Division One title.
Goals from Lucy Harrington, Abigail Spragg and Gemma Sullivan earned the all-important three points.
Head of the club’s ladies and girls section John Jackson said: “We’re absolutely delighted. This season has far exceeded our expectations and we’ve gone way beyond the targets we set.
“The players have worked incredibly hard and the campaign is far from over with two cup finals to look forward to.
“Paul and his team are under no pressure in those finals. We want them to enjoy those occasions, relax and play the great football that’s got them this far.”
Club chief executive Bill Williams added: “Massive congratulations to our ladies team. It’s their first season back after a couple of years but they hit the ground running and rightly deserve their title. We wish them every success for the two finals.”
The ladies still have one more league game to play but next up is the Kent Reliance Women’s Plate final at the Gallagher Stadium on Sunday 26 March. The match kicks off at 16:30 and ticket information will be announced soon.
