Maidstone United Ladies secured a league and cup double this afternoon, after beating Kent Football United 3-2 in the final of the Kent Reliance Womens Plate.
Jess Flisher opened the scoring for the Stones but it was level pegging at the break after Lucy Cockerill got a goal back for KFU.
Temi Adeyemi got the better of the Maidstone defence and it was advantage Kent Football United in what was a closely-fought match.
As the game entered the final ten minutes, the Stones were back in it after Amanda Beeput made it through the KFU defence to calmly slot home. With a minute of normal time to play, Maidstone were awarded a penalty and Nicola Morris stepped up to score the winner.
Seven minutes of added time were seen out and the celebrations began. Before captain Abigail Spragg lifted the plate, goalkeeper Kay Doody deservedly picked up the player of the match award.
The chance of a treble is still on with another final to come in May.
