The Gallagher Stadium is hosting a charity match this Saturday (1 July) in remembrance of Charlie Girling.
It’s almost a year since Charlie died, at the age 12, on a Scout Jamboree in Finland. He had been part of 1st Aylesford Scouts since the age of six and his family and friends have been raising money towards a new scout hut for the village – something to remember Charlie by for years to come.
This Saturday teachers from his school – Maplesden Noakes – will play Aylesford Scout Group Leaders at the home of the Stones. Charlie’s older brother, Jack, and his dad, Les, are playing for the Scouts.
Gates open at 13:00 and admission is £5 for adults and £2 for children/students.
