Alex Flisher has been signed by Margate for a undisclosed fee.
It was revealed last month that the 25-year-old would be leaving Maidstone United after turning down a new deal for work and personal commitments.
The Thanet side were hotly tipped to secure his services and he now joins Gate boss Steve Watt and several former Stones players at Hartsdown Park next season.
Jay Saunders said: “No one will forget Flish’s time with the club. He made an outstanding contribution to his hometown side over the last eight years and will be missed by fans, players and staff alike.
“As I said before, we wish him well in his future career and extend our wishes to him and his wife Georgina as they prepare for the arrival of their first child next month.”
Flish made 275 first team appearances after making his debut in 2009. He played youth and reserve football for the club prior to that.
