Maidstone United Raiders picked up a trophy at this weekend’s CSIS Disability Football Tournament.
Teams from Kent and south London took part in three mini leagues, with the club’s Bronze team winning Group B and the Gold and Copper teams coming runners-up in Group A and C, respectively.
It is the fifth year that the Gallagher Stadium has hosted the competition.
Maidstone United’s Head of Disability Football Lorraine Humm said: “The tournament was a great success and I’d like to congratulate all the teams that took part.
“I was very proud of all my players and delighted that we picked up some silverware on the day.
“My thanks go to Kevin Holliday at CSIS for sponsoring the tournament. CSIS has backed disability football for a number of years and if it wasn’t for that generous support, it wouldn’t be possible to stage this kind of event.
“I also want to thank all the volunteers who gave their time to make sure the day ran smoothly – it’s much appreciated.”
A trial for the Raiders, which includes a new mental health team, will take place later this summer. Anyone interested in joining can contact Lorraine on 07880 907188.
