Jay Saunders has moved quickly to bolster his defence with the loan signing of QPR’s Alex Finney.
The Stones boss was already in the market for a defender but that search was heightened following the departure of Kevin Lokko this week.
Described by Rangers as ‘an aggressive centre half’, Finney began his career with National League newcomers Leyton Orient.
In 2014 Bolton brought him to their academy. He made his debut for the Whites and was consistently on the verge of the first team, making three appearances before being released so they could accommodate another signing.
He signed for QPR a couple of months later and was a regular for the Under 23s last season.
The 21-year-old will be with the Stones until early January.
