As the long summer holiday draws to a close, Maidstone United’s youth coaching programmes return for the autumn term.
Pebbles, on Saturday morning between 08:45 and 09:45, offers an introduction to football for children aged four to seven. It’s open to boys and girls of all abilities and focuses on fitness, skills and technique.
The Wednesday night Player Development Centre provides football coaching for children aged seven to 13. There are two sessions: the first for boys and girls in school years two to four from 17:00 to 18:00, followed by children in years five to nine between 18:00 and 19:00. There’s also a goalkeeping academy hosted by one of the Stones keepers.
Pebbles and PDC take place at the Gallagher Stadium – the home of Maidstone United – giving children the opportunity to train on the state-of-the-art 3G pitch.
While the children are training, parents can relax and unwind in the Spitfire Lounge. The bar is open, selling a selection of hot and cold drinks, and there’s also free wi-fi and multiscreen sport available.
On Wednesday evenings, Em’s Kitchen is open too. The independent deli serves up a scrumptious menu – all of which is cooked fresh to order.
A child’s first Pebbles or PDC session is free of charge. A monthly membership scheme is available to join thereafter. Registration opens 15 minutes before each session.
