You may have noticed on the opening day of the season that the Maidstone Lions car park at County Gate was closed. Peter Hooper from the charity explains why…
“Maidstone Lions would like to say a huge thank you to all supporters, both home and away, who used the Lions car park when attending matches at the Gallagher Stadium.
“It has been our major fund raiser each year and enabled us to give away thousands of pounds to local good causes. As we mentioned earlier in the year one of the projects it has helped us support is the sensory room for disabled children at the Heathside Centre in Coxheath.
“Unfortunately all good things tend to come to an end as, despite all of the tenants of the buildings on the site giving us permission to continue using the car park, the managing agents have told us that we may not use the car park.
“We haven’t given up hope and will continue to seek permission but certainly for the foreseeable future we will not have the pleasure of parking and looking after your cars on match days.”
- While the Lions work to reopen the car park, supporters can use the pay and display car parks at Invicta House, Sandling Road and Maidstone East Station. Locations and pricing are available here.
