Zavon Hines has left Maidstone United.
The winger came in on a short term contract last August, following the news that Jamar Loza would miss the opening weeks of the season after ankle surgery.
That deal was due to end in a fortnight’s time and with the 29-year-old wanting to make the most of the January transfer window, it was mutually agreed to cancel his contract with the club.
The winger scored 10 in 25 league and cup appearances for the Stones, which included memorable goals in the games against Eastleigh and Macclesfield Town.
Jay Saunders said: “Zav’s done a job for us during his time here and at the same time we’ve given him an opportunity to rebuild his career and enjoy his football again.
“I get that he wants to have another crack at the league and I am not going to stand in the way of that, especially with his deal ending so soon and us having Jamar back playing.
“We wish him all the best and thank him for his contribution to our season so far.”
In other team news, this week has also seen the departure of Harley Willard. The midfielder, who joined the Stones from Southampton last summer, spent three months on loan at Eastbourne Borough.
