Maidstone United U16s

Kent Youth League results (25/2/2018)

Maidstone United under 16s are through to the final of the Kent County Cup after a 1-0 win over Erith & Belvedere today.

In a closely-fought match, it was a spot kick that decided the winner – Nicky Hunt converting for the Stones.

That makes it two semi final wins in five days and follows Tuesday night’s 2-1 win against Dover Athletic in the league cup.

With five league games to play, the Stones are currently in pole position, with games against their title rivals still to come.

Team boss Lee Juggins said: “I am very pleased with the last two wins. The lads have dug in and worked hard to get through these semi finals. The treble is still on. We’re currently top, one of the teams below us has games in hand but we’ve got to play them and they’ve got a hard run-in.

“If we win those five, there’s a good chance we’ll secure the league for the third season on the trot and we’ve got two finals to look forward to. The boys have been fantastic.”
