Jamar Loza has returned to the Gallagher for pre-season training.
The forward is out to prove his fitness and form after a frustrating season in which he had to undergo ankle surgery.
He was expected to be out for up to four months after the op last August but was back playing in mid-October.
However, a lack of pre-season hampered his recuperation and he never found the form that wowed crowds the season before.
All that is behind him now and he’s determined to earn a place in the squad for next season.
He said: “I’ve been working really hard. I know how hard pre-season can be so I’ve been keeping in shape, doing a lot of running and I am ready to kick on this season. Hopefully it’ll be the best season ever.”
Jay Saunders said: “If you’ve got a fully fit Jamar Loza, you’ve got a match winner on your hands. He’ll have a month’s worth of training with us and playing games and if he comes through that and looks back to his old self then there’s deal in place for him.
“He had a couple of other offers on the table but felt attached to the club and wanted to stay. It was his first training session today and he looked very sharp and all the signs were positive.”
First day back today! The excitement is real 😅 Enjoy your day people 👊🏾
