Maidstone United have agreed another three signings ahead of tomorrow’s Vanarama National League opener against Hartlepool United.
First through the door is 18-year-old goalkeeper Matt Funnell. Matt, who spent the latter part of the 2017-18 season with the Stones on loan from Crystal Palace, joins us on a permanent deal following the expiration of his contract at Selhurst Park.
Funnell is joined at the Gallagher Stadium by Jordy Robins, who has agreed to join the club subject to international clearance. Central midfielder Jordy is a former Maidstone United youth team player, and has returned to Kent following the completion of a four-year soccer scholarship in the United States.
Completing the new additions is Elliott Capel. The 18-year-old defender came through the club’s football academy and has impressed the Stones management team during pre-season.
