League sponsors Vanarama have been busy assessing the season so far and what’s to come.
Story so far…
Slowly but surely, the Stones look to be coming to life. Two early defeats gave the club a reality check, but four points from a possible six sees them looking up.
From the manager’s office…
The stalemate with Eastbourne Borough may not have gripped the Gallagher Stadium but John Still believes Tuesday was a big step in the right direction: “I think we’ve made a bit of progress and it’s a sign that we are getting our game together,” he said.
Biggest result so far…
The 3-1 win at tricky Hungerford answered a couple of early-season questions.
Stones’ top performer…
Ryan Johnson has impressed in defence while Jake Cole has proved to be a safe pair of hands.
League position: 14th
Home goals for: 1
Away goals for: 3
Home goals against: 2
Away goals against: 2
What the fans say…
Fans think things are coming together too if twitter is anything to go by.
One wrote: “We’re slowly finding our feet – it won’t suddenly turn around overnight.”
Another posted: “We are maybe lacking a little creativity at present but defensively we are so much better this season.”
Who’s next up…
It’s back to the Gallagher as Slough Town visit on Saturday. They haven’t won yet.
What the fans can expect..
With just one win between the two sides so far, those going will get a match which will surely see both sides desperate to make their mark. John Still’s team haven’t won at home yet, and with big crowds they’ll know that needs to change before long.
