Maidstone United Raiders were runners-up at the 2019 Kent Kudos awards.
The awards were established by Kent Sport in 2017 to recognise and reward innovative projects, which are helping people in Kent and Medway to be more active.
Raiders – the club’s PAN-disability section – provides sporting opportunities for more than 120 children and adults. Established in 2004, there are 15 teams playing in the adult and junior Kent Disability League, catering for ages ranging from five to sixty-five.
Head of Disability Football Lorraine Humm was at the Kent Event Centre to collect the award and a cheque for £250.
Lorraine said: “I am absolutely over the moon for our MUFC Raiders coaches, players and volunteers.
“Our project encourages players to get active by playing football, coaching and refereeing, as well as helping out at first team games to get them involved and give something back to the club.”
