Maidstone United are pleased to announce the signing of Cameron James on loan from Colchester United.
The 21-year-old checks in at the Gallagher Stadium on a one month deal.
Capable of playing in both central midfield and in defence, Cameron has already made 29 first team appearances for the U’s in Leagues One and Two, the EFL Cup and the EFL Trophy.
James also spent time on loan at Chelmsford City and Braintree Town last season, with a number of his 32 games for the Iron coming under the stewardship of Hakan Hayrettin.
After signing on the dotted line, Cameron said: “I’ve been waiting for the deal to go through for the last three or four days.
“I played for Hakan last year and we had a good relationship. I know his style of play and he knows mine, so he’s got in touch with Colchester about me coming in and that’s how the move came about.
“I played for Braintree against Maidstone last year so I’ve had a glimpse of what it’s like here with good, loud fans, so I’m looking forward to getting out there and playing in front of them.
“I can’t wait for tomorrow’s game. Everyone’s talking about it, it’s going to be a big crowd and it’s a great chance to showcase the talent we’ve got in this squad.”
Cameron goes straight into contention for tomorrow’s Emirates FA Cup game against Torquay United at the Gallagher Stadium.
