Along with the owners and George, I’ve been phoning some supporters for a chat and to find out how they’re getting on.
There are those who are getting through it the best they can, others less so. The impact this virus is having on different people has really hit me during these calls and it’s so important we all pull together to keep each other safe.
I’ve still got more to call, if I could get to you all I would. It’s clearly meant a lot to those we’ve spoken to and we can all do our bit.
Family’s very important to me, always has been. These times make you appreciate that even more. So, if there’s a family member or friend you haven’t heard from lately or you’d usually just message, why not pick up the phone and make that call?
At this time more than most, just having someone ask if you’re ok can make the world of difference, as I’ve found out today.
The other family I can’t wait to get back together is our Maidstone United one. Fans, staff, volunteers and players, back at the Gallagher where we belong.
Sadly, that has to be on the back burner for now as our only priority at this time is to follow the advice that’s out there and do our bit to lessen the impact on the NHS.
Be safe, look after yourselves and my very best wishes to you all.
And to the gentleman I spoke to earlier, as soon as we’re able, we’ll have that glass of Scotch.
