Let’s face it: if you haven’t got one already, the chances are you’ll need one in the near future.
Face coverings are one of the must-have health accessories to help combat coronavirus and very soon you can keep safe with the Stones.
Club charity The Stones Community Trust are launching branded face coverings, which will be sold via the club shop.
Profits from the sales will go towards the charity’s work in the local community.
The trust know a thing or two about personal protective equipment. More than 1,000 pieces of medical standard PPE have been made by volunteers and distributed to care homes, hospices and hospitals in the county during the past three months.
Community Development Officer Kay Skelton said: “After supplying PPE to care workers and nursing staff, we wanted to turn our attention to Stones fans.
“Whether you’re on public transport or out shopping, you can feel safer with a Stones face covering.
“As lockdown eases, I think we’ll see coverings mandatory in even more places, so let’s get ahead of the game!”
Priced at £7, which includes two filters, the reusable face coverings can be washed at 60°C. Additional filters will be on sale in the club shop.
Club chief exec Bill Williams said: “Football isn’t the same without supporters in stadiums.
“If face coverings are adequate protection in confined spaces like train carriages, it stands to reason that they could be a solution to getting fans in close proximity in an open air environment.
“They may, for the foreseeable, become as common as a club scarf. Get behind the trust and get yours when they go on sale.”
To help gauge interest, the trust are asking fans to indicate how many face coverings they would be interested in purchasing. There will be a choice of three designs, an example one is pictured above.
