Maidstone United are inviting players to trial for their under-23 team.
The team, which was introduced a year ago, were champions-elect in the Suburban League Premier Division when the season was cancelled in March.
Securing that title and developing more local players will once again be the goal of management duo Simon Austin and Kane Rice, the former first teamers who returned to the club last summer.
Kane said: “We’ve mixed emotions from last season. From setting up a new team in a matter of weeks and being ten points clear, to missing out on the title after the season was cancelled – it was a rollercoaster ride.
“All that has fired us up for this coming season and we are looking for some new players to add to those we’ve retained.
“We will do trials as soon as FA guidance allows, so if you’re looking to make that step from youth to men’s football and put yourself in the frame for the first team, please get in touch.”
As well as players, the team are looking for a new kit manager.
If you would be interested in helping out with this voluntary role, please email the club office. Previous experience is desirable but not essential. The applicant must have a driving licence and their own or access to a vehicle.
The under-23s play home fixtures at the Gallagher Stadium on alternate Saturdays to the first team. The squad trains at the home of the Stones on Thursday evenings.
Last season, six under-23 players were dual registered with the first team. Bridging the gap between youth and men’s football, more than a dozen of the club’s under-18 and under-16 players were called up for Suburban League fixtures.
