The Bring The Stones Home Association have donated £42,000 to Maidstone United Football Club.

For the past three years the independent association, led by supporters of the club, have co-ordinated and organised a series of events, and had money donated to them from individual supporter endeavours.

The money will pay for the North Stand at The Gallagher Stadium.

Club director Terry Casey said: “It is difficult to put into words the gratitude I feel. The association’s fundraising efforts have been overwhelming. Thank you all on the Bring The Stones Home team so very much.”

Fellow director Oliver Ash added: “I would like to offer my sincere thanks to all the BTSH supporters who have raised all these funds over many months of fund-raising efforts. It is very reassuring to know that we are not alone in funding the development of the ground and that there is a loyal group of supporters now linked indelibly to our new stadium.”

The Olympic Torch Relay will pass by The Gallagher Stadium on Friday 20 July.

The parade starts in Mote Park at 06:42, arriving at the Archbishops’ Palace at 07:05. The torch will be rowed along the River Medway to Invicta Rowing Club on James Whatman Way. From there it will pass by The Gallagher Stadium to the top of the road outside the Kent Library and History Centre – where it will be convoyed to the Medway towns.

See the full route on Day 63

Supporters are encouraged to watch this once in a lifetime moment from James Whatman Way in their Maidstone United shirt to create a line of amber along the road.

The torch will arrive in Kent on 17 July, passing through 37 communities. It will spend longer in Kent than any other county in the UK.

An average of 115 Torchbearers a day will carry the Olympic Flame during its 8,000 mile journey around the UK before it arrives at the Olympic Stadium on 27 July 2012 for the lighting of the cauldron at the Opening Ceremony, signifying the official start of the London 2012 Olympic Games.

The London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games has worked closely with representatives from a number of sectors in each Nation and Region of the UK to devise the route and is taking the Olympic Flame to within ten miles of more than 95% of the population.

The Flame will travel through more than 1,000 communities as its travels round the UK and will be transported by a variety of different methods of transport, including by boat, cable car, hot air balloon, bicycle, motorbike and horseback. Additionally it will pass many monuments, historic venues and sites of regional, national and international interest.

Be the first for almost a generation to get your hands on Maidstone United Football Club’s season tickets that are now on general sale.

The tickets for the club’s homecoming cover all 21 Ryman League matches for the 2012/13 season at The Gallagher Stadium. There are main stand or ground tickets available. An adult season ticket for the main stand costs £198 (equivalent to £9.42 per match) or ground costs £180 (equivalent to £8.57 per match).

Season tickets for concessions (60+ and students) and young people aged 11 to 16 are also available. Children aged under 11 will be admitted free when accompanied by a fee-paying adult.

Application forms can be downloaded from this website or tickets can be purchased direct from the online club shop.

Existing season ticket holders and people who have donated a seat or bought a brick at the new stadium were given first opportunity to buy theirs.

Club chief executive Bill Williams said: “Twenty-four years since Maidstone United last owned a ground in Kent’s county town, we are delighted to offer season tickets for our homecoming. This will be a momentous occasion for Maidstone and I hope supporters old and new, and those who have never seen the club play in the town will come and join us.

“Our season tickets for 2012/13 offer excellent value for money, giving adult admission for less than a tenner per match. The early sales to existing season tickets holders and those who donated a seat or bought a brick have been really encouraging.”

In addition to season tickets, Maidstone United have a limited number of Vice Presidents’ Club tickets still available. Please call the club office on 01622 753817 for more information.

The Gallagher Stadium, off James Whatman Way – opposite The White Rabbit Pub, is the first in the country to be built with a 3G pitch. The state-of-the-art synthetic surface will enable the facility to be used by the club’s Ryman League team, their 30+ community teams, as well as other local clubs, businesses, community groups and schools. The £2.5million facility will also be the home of the Maidstone United Academy – a post-16 education centre.
