Maidstone United emerged victorious from a penalty shootout against Dartford to secure their place in the Kent Senior Cup semi finals.
After 15 perfect penalties from both sides, former Stones youth player Dan Johnson saw his attempt saved by Josh Strizovic to end the tie.
The first half was also a tale of penalties; Charlie Sheringham converted for the Darts following a Stones handball, while Ollie Muldoon saw his attempt saved by Bailey Vose after Elliott Romain was felled by Callum Driver.
Early in the second half it looked as if Maidstone had equalised when Romain beat Vose to a through ball, however the referee blew for a free kick before the ball crossed the line. Vose was sent off and Ben Greenhalgh, one of four former Stones among the Dartford contingent alongside loanees Andre Coker and Jordan Wynter, took up the gloves with the Darts having no sub goalkeeper.
The Stones finally equalised with 82 minutes played, Paxman squaring for Romain who placed his shot beyond Greenhalgh to take the game to spot kicks.
