The Stones made it four wins out of a possible five against Tunbridge Wells with a professional performance at the Culverden Stadium.

Its no secret that the PDC Cup isn’t a priority for the Stones this season and this was reflected in a number of changes to the starting line-up which included Nick Blade and Andy Hart from the reserves who impressed greatly.

Tunbridge Wells started brightly and Daniel Ansell was causing The Stones defence problems, first squaring the ball to Alex Rich only for the shot to go wide and then he himself couldn't hit the target after finding space.

Neither side created much up front but Maidstone's Nick Hegley did hit the post with 27 minutes played when he received Simon Austin's cross with his back to goal and despite the attentions of a defender he managed to dig out a shot.

However within just 2 minutes of the restart, The Stones took the lead. Adrian Hatcher conceded a free kick out near the touchline and Simon Austin sent a good delivery over to the far post, which was side-footed into the net by Ryan Royston.

And just 14 minutes later The Stones doubled their lead. Nathan Paul cleverly played in Mo Takaloo whose shot, which was goal bound, took a deflection off Jason Bourne on its way into the net.

The Wells did have a couple of chances late in the game and Dave Hassett was guilty of a bad miss from substitute John Whitehouse's pass.

And after United had survived two goalmouth scrambles in which The Wells failed to find the net, Ryan Royston rounded off the scoring with a goal in stoppage time.
