Mo Takaloo's second goal of the pre-season campaign ensured that Maidstone stretched their unbeaten run to three matches.

It was the home side though who took control of the game right from the outset. With just three minutes played, Andy Hessenthaler sent a deep free-kick into the right hand side of the box and he picked out Jimmy Dryden who hit the outside of the post with a low shot.

On ten minutes an imaginative free-kick from Alan Pouton saw him hit the ball back to Jon Wallis who was thirty five minutes from goal but his long curling effort did not trouble Pat Mullin in the Maidstone goal.

With The Whites dominating, United were finding it hard to get forward but on thirty minutes they had a strong appeal for a penalty waived away when the former Dover player Craig Wilkins was nudged over in the box.

Then within sixty seconds of this, Dover took the lead. A poor clearance from Pat Mullin went straight to Frannie Collin and he raced down the right hand side of the pitch. Jason Barton managed to block his first attempt at a cross but could not recover in time to stop the second effort and Jon Wallis headed past Mullin.

Dover were enjoying a lot of space down the right hand side and they exploited this again with thirty four minutes played. Hessenthaler comfortably won the ball in midfield and slotted a pass through to Collin but his low drive from distance was expertly tipped round the post by Mullin.

Then shortly before the break, The Whites should have added to their lead when first Dryden headed wide when well placed and then he had a shot deflected inches wide.

At half time, The Stones withdrew Jason Barton and Nick Hegley for Ashley Ulph and Sam Tydeman and with fifty two minutes played, Andy Martin threaded the ball through to Tiesse who was chopped down but no penalty was forthcoming as Tiesse was offside.

Martin and Tiesse combined again five minutes later and Tiesse rounded Dean Ruddy only to be impeeded as he tried to shoot. Tiesse remained on his feet and once again, no penalty was awarded.

Dover withdrew Hesenthaler after sixty three minutes and his subsitution enabled The Stones to come more into the game.

With seventy one minutes played, Tiesse was fouled out on the right hand side. Subsitute Sam Tydeman swung the ball to the edge of the box where it was met by Wilkins and Mo Takaloo nipped in to score from close range.

Takaloo nearly added to his tally just moments later when he forced Ruddy to tip his drive onto the left hand post.

The Dover keeper then ensured the game finished in a draw with a terrific double save twelve minutes from time when he first denied Errison Ahwan and then subsitute Kane Rice from close range.
