Two late goals from Gary Noel and Dewayne Clarke were enough to see Harrow ease to a comfortable victory over a Maidstone side depleted by injuries.
Andy Walker and Andray Baptiste were not seriously tested in a drab first half although neither keeper looked particularly assured when they were called into action. On 24 minutes, The Stones were awarded a free-kick on the edge of the box and Lloyd Blackman placed his shot through the wall but although Andray Baptiste spilled the ball, the danger was snuffed out.
Then on 31 minutes a neat move down the Maidstone left ended with Blackman picking out Elliot Bradbrook who expertly brought the ball under control only to turn the wrong way and Baptiste held the shot.
Meanwhile at the other end, on forty one minutes Jonathan Constant curled a free-kick just over the bar from a central position before Bradbrook beat the off-side trap and raced into the box but with Baptiste to beat, he put the ball wide.
Shortly after the interval, Roland Edge tricked his way into space and slipped the ball to Bradbrook who fired his effort straight at Baptiste and this was to be Maidstone’s last effort on goal until the 86 th minute as Harrow began to up the tempo.
On 58 minutes, the vistors broke quickly and Constant found Bobby Highton in space but Andy Walker held his shot and then on 71 minutes, Harrow had an excellent chance when Noel went clear in the box and he tried to shoot through Walker’s legs but the Maidstone keeper got a touch to divert the ball wide.
Then sixty seconds later, Dean Fenton opened up the home side’s defence with a pass out wide to substitute Dewayne Clarke who squared the ball to Noel and he saw another shot deflect behind for a corner.
However, Noel was to have more luck on 75 minutes when Highton moved down the right and crossed to the Harrow striker who slammed the ball past the stranded Walker.
Maidstone then pushed forwards looking for a quick response but they were caught out when Steve Elliott lost possession in midfield and Harrow put Constant clear but he wasted the excellent opportunity.
The visitors were nearly made to regret this miss on 86 minutes when substitute Ashley Dann forced Baptiste into a save at the base of the right hand post but Harrow made sure of the victory one minute from time when Constant drove in a corner which Walker failed to gather and Clarke had the simple task of knocking the ball into an unguarded net.
There was still time for substitute Narada Pascal to test Baptiste with a fierce effort but it was the visitors who came closest to scoring in the final moments when Elliott sliced an attempted clearance into the air inside his own box and substitute Danny Leech headed the ball over Walker but Elliott recovered to clear the ball away from the line.
