30th August. 12.30pm
The club have received confirmation that our League Cup
game at Tonbridge Angles will take place on Tuesday 12th September,
Kick-off 7.45pm.
There are also two further changes to our fixture programme,
with the John Ullman Kent Senior Cup 1st Round game against
Sittingbourne arranged for Tuesday 14th November 2006 and
our away game at Whyteleafe will now take place on Good Friday
6th April 2007 ko 3pm.
Don't forget our Reserves kick-off their season tonight at
Ashford Town, Kick-off 7.45pm and they would appreciate your
support.
And finally, out Under 18s start their FA Youth Cup campaign
this season with a home game against Colliers Wood. The game
has now been arranged for Thursday 28th September at Bourne
Park, KO 7.45pm. Once again your support would be welcome
as this highly talented side looks to progress to the later
stages and hopefully pick up a few League club scalps.
25th August 2006. 10.30am
Stones go into the Bank Holiday weekend with possibly their
strongest squad yet with new signings Lew Watts and Nick Barnes
available for Saturday. Also back from holiday is Leroy Huggins
so competition is beginning to mount for starting places in
the squad.
Michal Czanner once again retains his place in the squad
after another excellent game on Wednesday night and Joint
Manager Alan Walker was pleased that there was now healthy
competition throughout the squad; "If you look at the
squad as a whole everyone understands that if they don't perform,
there is stength and depth throughout the squad. If you look
at our strikers, with Leroy Huggins Simon Austin and Lee Sperring
all available they know they have to keep performing. Similarly
in midfield, on the wings we have quality players like Nick
Hegley, Kane Rice, Andy Hart, Aaron Lacy and Lee Sperring
all capable of fulfilling these roles whilst in the middle
of the park we have Nick Barnes, Jimmy Strouts, Sam Tydeman
and Jason Barton. Even in defence now competiton is growing
with Mario McNish, Lew Watts and Errison Ahwan, and they know
that Jimmy Strouts can also perform in that role as well as
Neil Miller when he's fit again."
Sadly, Sam Tydeman has still to recover from his dead leg
so is doubtful for both games over the weekend.
24th August 2006. 9.00am
Stones last night signed Lew Watts to provide much needed
experience to an already stretched Maidstone defence and looks
set to make his debut for the club this Saturday against Whyteleafe.
He played for Tonbridge Angels last season where he made
35 appearances after leaving Welling in October 2005 and he
brings a wealth of experience in non-league football. Watts
has played most of his football with Welling although did
make 13 appearances for Gravesend in 2002 before returning
to Welling.
There was also a surprise return to the Stones tonight for
Ryan Royston. With the mounting injury problems, Ryan agreed
to sign for the short term in order to help out his old club
for the duration of the injury crisis faced by the club.
23rd August 2006. 12.00pm
As expected the Stones will be without Sam Tydeman tonight
for the match against Fleet Town after failing to recover
from his dead leg. Errison Ahwan also remains out of contention
with his hamstring injury and Pat Mullin will not be risked
tonight as he is still not 100% fit, although he will be on
the bench in case of emergency.
Neil Miller will also be missing tonight due to fitness problems
as well, but on the positve note Alan Walker could be in a
postion to sign 'an experienced addition to the squad' this
evening but was uable to give details. If he does sign this
evening, he would then be available for Saturday's home game
against Whyteleafe.
Our kit suppliers informs us that Stones replica shirts

21st August 2006. 12.00pm (Further Update 3.00pm)
The club management were delighted to confirm today that
Craig 'Bert' Roser had agreed to return to the club and had
signed forms with the club on Saturday after the game.
Joint manager Alan Walker was 'delighted' that he had changed
his mind about retiring from the game and should give an injury
ravaged squad a welcome boost. Roser will not be available
until after the Bank Holiday game with Chatham and his long
awaited return will depend on his fitness after not taking
part in any pre-season games or training. Meanwhile the club
were contending with a new injury today with Errison Ahwan
unlikely to be available for the next few games after picking
up a hamstring injury last week. With the extent of the injury
unknown, he could be out for up to 6 weeks. Also picking up
an injury during the game was Sam Tydeman who suffered a very
bad dead leg and was unable to continue for the second half
and will probably miss Wednesday's game.
The final news from the weekend is the failure of Tony Sinclair
to appear for the game on Saturday. The club are waiting to
hear from the player for an explanation for his apparent breech
of club discipline and after a conversation with the player
at lunchtime today the club have decided that they will no
longer be requiring the services of the player.
The club have also received confirmation that the game with
Dartford, originally set for Saturday 23rd Sept will now be
an evening kick-off at Thurrock on Monday 25th Sept. The change
was forced on Dartford after the opening of their ground was
delayed. They have now extended their groundshare with Thurrock,
who have a game that day and with a charity game scheduled
for the Sunday, the league insisted that the fixture be played
on the Monday.
18th August 2006. 10.30am
Stones go into their opening game at Hastings at the weekend
with what will hopefully a full strength side.
The one major change will see Michal Czanner retaining the
goalkeeper jersey whilst Pat Mullin continues his return to
fitness having not trained since picking up his injury in
pre-season. The were a few bumps and knocks picked up over
the week but joint manager Alan Walker hopes that everyone
will be fit and raring to go on Saturday; "Obviously
we're looking for maximum points on Saturday and when you
look at our opening few games we'll be hoping to take full
advantage of two consecutive home games. After that we have
a short trip to Chatham over the Bank Holiday which will almost
be a home game for us as no doubt there will be a large Stones
contingent at this local derby."
The only other absentees tomorrow will be new signing Nick
Barnes (suspended) and Leroy Huggins (personal commitments).
Tomorrow will no doubt see many Stones fans making the trip
for what is set to to be a memorable day for many Stones fans
as we make our first appearance in the Ryman League. However
if you're not able to travel (and we hope you have a very
good reason not to be there!) we'll be once again offering
our Matchday LIVE! service bringing you text
commentary from the game.
13th August 2006. 5.30pm
After
making an appearance for the Stones in our friendly yesterday,
Nick Barnes (left in action for the Stones yesterday) formally
put pen to paper after the game to sign for the club. He joins
Mickal Czanner as Stones second signing of the weekend. However,
Barnes will not be available for the two opening games of
the season, whilst serving a two-match ban.
The Kent Senior Cup Draw was also made this week and the
Stones have been drawn at home to Sittingbourne in the 1st
Round (match to be played before 30/11/2006).
Finally, the club are proud to annouce that they have four
youth team players appearing in the Kent Under-18 Trials.
The 4 Stones players who have been selected for Kent U-18
Trials on 30th August at Faversham Town are: Dale Knott, Rupon
Anand, Steven Elliott and first team player Kane Rice

11th August 2006. 11.00am
Stones go into their final fixture at Aveley this weekend
with what will hopefully be an almost full strength squad
and the addition of one new signing. After the recent departure
of Richard Mannering, Walker and Hume have reacted quickly
to sign a second keeper.
Mickael Czanner joins up with the Stones from Tunbridge
Wells and the 6ft shot stopper wlil make his debut on Saturday
with Pat Mullin once again being rested to ensure no re-occurence
of his injury. Czanner made 25 appearances for Tunbridge Wells
last season and is aiming to challenge Mullin for the No.1
jersey.
Also likely to turn out on Saturday is Nick Barnes, who looks
set to re-sign for the Stones on Saturday, although he will
probably not play a major part on Saturday as he is suspended
for the first two games of the season.
There is also good news on the injuries front with both Nick
Hegley and Lee Sperring both having recovered from their injuries,
the only concern is Mario McNish who has a slight ankle strain,
but hopes to be over the injury in time for tomorrows game.
Leroy Huggins will not be available for the next two weekends
due to family commitments and Jimmy Strouts may miss this
weekends game due to work commitments. Overall, Alan Walker
reported that the squad were fit and raring to go and hopeful
of a good peformance Saturday at Aveley (directions available
through our Matchday
Page).
